An exercise in modern efficiency, for a painter and a photographer is designed as a minimalist retreat. Massing was conceptualized as a sculptural installation. The excavated mass of the house is carved to allow light, access, and ventilation. Special consideration was given to the fenestration in regards to the sun's path, privacy, and the changing views of the Hudson River.
